U.S. News and World Report rated Washington Regional as the #1 hospital in Arkansas and recognized Washington Regional as high performing in nine areas of care – chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, heart attack, heart failure, hip replacement, kidney failure, knee replacement, lung cancer surgery, stroke and uterine cancer surgery.
Additionally, in a separate ranking, U.S. News & World Report named Washington Regional Medical Center as a 2022-2023 High Performing hospital for Maternity Care (Uncomplicated Pregnancy). This is the highest award a hospital can earn for U.S. News’ Best Hospitals for Maternity Care.
Washington Regional Medical Center received an “A”, the highest grade possible, in both the Spring and Fall 2022 Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade. This national distinction recognizes Washington Regional’s achievements in protecting patients from preventable harm and error while in the hospital.
Providing the region’s most comprehensive care for disorders and injuries of the brain and spine, the J.B. Hunt Transport Services Neuroscience Institute offers experts specially trained in neurosurgical care, interventional neuroradiology, conservative spine care and therapy, interventional pain management and stroke care. Washington Regional is the first health system in Northwest Arkansas and only the second hospital in Arkansas to earn Comprehensive Stroke Center certification by The Joint Commission.
Dedicated to the well-being of older adults, the Pat Walker Center for Seniors provides a multi-disciplinary team approach offering geriatric primary care, management of chronic conditions, evaluation of acute illnesses and specialists in memory disorders and movement disorders.
As the only Level II trauma center in Northwest Arkansas, Washington Regional provides the highest level of emergency care available in the region with 24/7 surgicalist care throughout the hospital. Washington Regional receives trauma patients from all surrounding counties, plus areas of Oklahoma and Missouri.
Focused exclusively on the education, recovery and rehabilitation of individuals undergoing joint replacement, the Total Joint Center provides and 18-bed unit where patients attend “Joint Camp” to learn how to have the best results from their surgery.
With the most comprehensive cardiovascular care in Northwest Arkansas, Walker Heart Institute offers the region’s largest team of interventional cardiologists, electrophysiologists and cardiovascular and thoracic surgeons, as well as a 60-bed cardiology unit. A leader in innovative procedures, Walker Heart Institute offers transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR), WATCHMAN, and optical coherence tomography.
Designed to meet the needs or Northwest Arkansas’ growing families, the Women and Infants Center is home to the largest neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) in the region and Northwest Arkansas’ only Ronald McDonald House. The Women and Infants Center includes a specialized infant nutrition lab and serves as a human milk depot in partnership with Oklahoma Mothers’ Milk Bank. Two leading women’s health clinics, HerHealth and Parkhill, are located within the Women and Infants Center.
