Community Health Needs Assessment

Washington Regional is committed to improving the health of the people we serve by providing compassionate, high-quality care, prevention and wellness education. In order to fulfill our mission and meet requirements of the Affordable Care Act, we identify and prioritize our community’s significant health needs through a community health needs assessment.

The process involved:

  • A comprehensive evaluation of the implementation strategy that was developed as a result of the previous community health needs assessment.
  • Collection and analysis of a large range of data, including demographic, socioeconomic and health statistics, health care resources and patient use rates.
  • Interviews with key individuals who represent a) broad interest of the community, b) populations of need and c) persons with specialized knowledge in public health.
  • Development of an implementation plan.

The Community Health Needs Assessment document is a summary of all the available evidence collected during the community health needs assessments required by the IRS. It will serve as a compliance document, an assessment of the impact of the previous implementation strategy and a resource until the next assessment cycle.
