Stroke Outcomes

Washington Regional is committed to improving the health of people in communities we serve through compassionate, high quality care that ensures the best outcomes for our patients:

  • Clot busting medication administration – less than 60 minutes: 87.8% of eligible patients receive clot busting medication in less than 60 minutes since October 2014 (above national average of 65.2%)
  • Clot busting medication administration – less than 45 minutes: 86.6% of eligible patients receive clot busting medication in less than 45 minutes since January 2019 (above national average of 59.9%)
  • Clot busting medication administration – less than 30 minutes: 53.8% of eligible patients receive clot busting medication in less than 30 minutes since January 2019 (above national average of 25.2%)
  • Door to Stroke Provider: 83.9% of patients were evaluated by a Stroke Provider at the bedside within 0-20 minutes since April 2018 (national average is 92.6%)
  • Clot removal: More than 92% of patients had restored blood flow to area of the brain where stroke occurred after clot removal since April 2018 (national average is 88.5%)
  • Discharge – all stroke patients: 79% of all stroke patients discharged home or to rehabilitation since October 2014 (above national average of 65.6%)
  • Discharge – patients who received clot busting medication: 81.7% of patients discharged home or to rehabilitation since October 2014 (above national average of 61.8%)
