Stroke Screening and Prevention
Arkansas has one of the highest rates of death from stroke in the U.S., according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Fortunately, advances in stroke treatment are saving lives, as is awareness about stroke prevention.
As part of the region’s most comprehensive stroke program, the J.B. Hunt Transport Services Neuroscience Institute is proud to do our part. We offer extensive community education about stroke warning signs and risk factors, which include:
- Being overweight
- Diabetes
- Family history of stroke
- High blood pressure
- High cholesterol
- Lack of physical activity
- Smoking
It’s important to talk with your health care provider about your risk factors and work together to create a stroke prevention plan. Watch the videos below for more information on stroke screening and prevention.
