New J.B. Hunt Transport Services Cancer Support Home: coming early 2021

In response to a growing need for expanded services and a more accessible facility, Washington Regional Medical Foundation plans to construct a new 9,000 square foot Cancer Support Home (CSH) with expected completion in 2020. Construction of a new CSH, with additional overnight guest rooms, will allow Washington Regional to more adequately meet the critical support needs of cancer patients who are struggling with the burden of cancer.
The new home will be located on 4.4 acres, on East Longview Street in Fayetteville. It will offer the same services as the current location, but with additional amenities including:

  • Expanded wig and prosthesis boutique with private dressing rooms
  • 8 overnight guest rooms, for patients and their caregiver who travel to Northwest Arkansas for cancer treatment
  • Private bath with each guest room
  • Great Room with large kitchen, dining and living areas
  • Elevator
  • Large, private courtyard and deck areas

The mission of the Cancer Support Home is to provide hope and comfort to those learning to live with cancer, particularly the uninsured, underinsured and minority populations. CSH services are available at no cost to everyone, not exclusively Washington Regional patients.

The campaign goal for the construction of the new Cancer Support Home was $4.1 million and to date has been met from generous donations including the capstone gift from J.B. Hunt Transport Services Inc. Naming opportunities are available and funds are still needed for operation of the home.

Campaign chairs are Tamara and John Roberts and their family. “Our family is pleased to serve as the chairs for the Washington Regional Cancer Support Home capital campaign. We are moved by the support available to Cancer Support Home clients and their families as they navigate the unfamiliar road of a cancer diagnosis.”
