Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) is designed for healthcare professionals who direct or participate in the management of cardiopulmonary arrest, respiratory emergencies and shock management in the pediatric population. Through didactic instruction and active participation in simulated cases, students enhance their skills in the evaluation and management of pediatrics with respiratory compromise, circulatory compromise or cardiac arrest.
HeartCode® PALS part 1 is a web-based, self-directed program that teaches healthcare providers knowledge and skills needed to recognize and prevent cardiopulmonary arrest in infants and children. After completing HeartCode® PALS, students must successfully complete a hands-on skills practice and testing sessions with an AHA PALS instructor. All classes result in an American Heart Association certification card valid for 2 years.
