Woods Named Director of Washington Regional Physicians' Specialty Hospital

Headshot of Alex Woods, BSN, RN wearing glasses and a blue shirtWashington Regional has named Alex Woods, BSN, RN, as director of Washington Regional Physicians’ Specialty Hospital. Washington Regional assumed operations of the facility in Fayetteville on December 1. In her new role, Woods is responsible for oversight of surgical services at the Washington Regional Physicians’ Specialty Hospital campus as well as serving as the facility’s on-site director.

Woods first joined Washington Regional in 2011 as a cardiology nurse. She has held multiple roles since that time and most recently served as a clinical improvement specialist and clinical project manager. Woods earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Arkansas Tech University and completed the RN program at Baptist Health School of Nursing. 

“Alex played a critical role in ensuring a smooth transition when Washington Regional assumed operations of Physicians’ Specialty Hospital,” said Cindy Jo Allen, Washington Regional vice president and assistant chief operating officer. “Alex’s leadership skills in quality and process improvement and her knowledge of the Washington Regional system will be valuable as we embark on this exciting time of growth and expansion.”

Washington Regional Physicians’ Specialty Hospital is licensed for 20 beds and houses five operating rooms, a procedure room, an imaging suite, a laboratory, and emergency care services.
