Washington Regional Named a Forbes Top Hospital

Washington Regional Medical Center has been named one of Forbes Top Hospitals for 2026. The inaugural list evaluated acute care hospitals across the country to provide patients with information about high-quality, high-value medical services. Of the 2,500 hospitals that met Forbes’ inclusion criteria, only 762 hospitals, including four in Arkansas, made the list.

“Washington Regional is proud to be named a Forbes Top Hospital. This recognition helps patients, their loved ones and their health care providers make informed decisions about where they choose to receive care,” said Washington Regional President and CEO Larry Shackelford. “Earning a spot on the Forbes Top Hospitals List highlights our mission of providing our community with compassionate, high-quality care.”

Forbes used data from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services Provider Data Catalog to assess hospital best practices, value, and patient experience. Patient outcomes, such as rates of survival, mortality, infection and readmission, carried the most weight on each hospital’s overall rating. Outcomes were adjusted for social drivers of health including socioeconomics and access to medical services to account for differences among hospitals’ locations and patient populations.

Forbes also named Washington Regional one of America’s Best-In-State Employers for 2025. To learn more about Washington Regional’s quality ratings, accreditations and certifications, visit wregional.com/quality.
