Washington Regional Emergency Department Earns Second Prestigious Lantern Award
The Washington Regional Emergency Department is once again the only emergency department in Arkansas to earn the Emergency Nurses Association Lantern Award®. The prestigious distinction recognizes emergency departments that exemplify exceptional leadership, practice, education, advocacy and research.
“The Washington Regional Emergency Department provides lifesaving care each day,” said Washington Regional Chief Nursing Officer Rebecca Cowie, RN, APRN, ACNS-BC. “We are honored to achieve this prestigious designation for a second time. This honor reflects the high-quality, compassionate care our team members provide each day during some of the most critical moments in our patients’ lives.”
“The Lantern Award recognizes something incredibly special. It isn’t an award for an individual or an entire hospital—it’s a recognition earned by an emergency department and the team that powers it every day,” said ENA President Dustin Bass, DNP, MHA, RN, CEN, NEA-BC. “Washington Regional is one of 126 emergency departments to achieve a Lantern Award this year.”
Washington Regional’s Emergency Department is prepared 24/7 with emergency medicine specialists and saw more than 57,000 visits last year.
