Washington Regional Celebrates Team Members During National Hospital Week

Washington Regional is celebrating its 3,200+ team members and their service to our community during National Hospital Week.

“At Washington Regional, this is an opportunity to recognize and celebrate all our team members in our medical center and 55 clinic locations who work to fulfill our mission of providing compassionate, high quality care to our communities,” Washington Regional President and CEO Larry Shackelford said. “The pandemic forced the cancelation of our Hospital Week celebration last year, and we are fortunate to be able to celebrate to some degree this year and enjoy special activities throughout next week.”

This year’s celebration features a baseball theme as health care workers find themselves in the 7th inning stretch in the fight against COVID-19. Hospital Week activities at Washington Regional include a concession stand for hospital staff featuring Cracker Jack, nachos, candy and other ballpark treats, Washington Regional Night at Arvest Ballpark, treat baskets for clinics, and an outdoor “walk-up” event.

“It is my hope that this Hospital Week our staff is able to take a break, enjoy some fellowship with their teammates and have fun reflecting on how far we’ve come over the past year,” Shackelford said. “The past year has been difficult for all of us. And while the pandemic is not over yet, the vaccine means we can now see a light on the horizon. We look forward to a larger event in the near future when we will honor our patients who were impacted by COVID and recognize the service and sacrifice of our team members.”
