Integrative Gynecology Services

  • Non-surgical, in-office gynecology services using integrative, functional and conventional medicine techniques to evaluate and discover the cause of symptoms from a holistic, personalized approach, which may incorporate nutrition, supplements and herbal support, mind-body care and specialized functional medicine testing:
    • Well woman exams and annual visits using an integrative approach
    • Pap smears and HPV screening
    • Birth control counseling and management
    • Integrative assessment and treatment for conditions and concerns such as PCOS, fibroids, perimenopause and menopause, irregular or heavy periods, pelvic pain, postpartum health support, hormonal health and fertility

Integrative Medicine Consultations

  • Integrative Medicine Consultations for women using integrative, functional and conventional medicine techniques to evaluate the patient’s overall health and provide a personalized care plan with resources to help restore optimal health and balance. The consultation includes:
    • An initial appointment with extensive assessment of all aspects of health – mind, body and spirit; lab work and testing can be ordered based on specific symptoms and history
    • Three follow-up appointments with Dr. Markell to review test results, your personalized care plan and provide coaching and support regarding health goals
    • Two appointments with registered nurse for private health coaching based on health goals
    • Membership to private Facebook group and access to Zoom monthly group discussions 
  • Additional follow-up appointments are available to monitor progress, review and interpret labs, and discuss recommendations for nutrition, fitness, mental health, sexual health, hormonal support, sleep, life purpose counseling and more, depending on personal health goals.
  • Areas of consultation include: optimization of overall health, nutrition, hormonal health, digestive/gut health, autoimmune disease, thyroid disease, adrenal dysfunction, sleep hygiene and insomnia, PMS and PMDD, anxiety and depression, perimenopause/menopause, polycystic ovarian syndrome, endometriosis, fibroids, irregular/painful periods, preconception/postpartum health and infertility, stress management and burnout prevention/treatment, mental wellbeing, irritable and inflammatory bowel disease, sexual health, longevity and cognitive health, cancer risk reduction, and integrative cancer support.

The clinic is open 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m., Monday through Thursday and 8:30 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. on Friday.


We are closed New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving (Thursday and Friday), Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.

Inclement Weather

Please check local television stations and Washington Regional social media for announcements regarding clinic closures due to inclement weather. Patients should call the clinic before coming in during inclement weather.


In case of an emergency, please call 911 or go to your nearest hospital emergency room.

24/7 Care

If you have a medical problem that cannot wait until the next business day, Washington Regional has Urgent Care locations throughout Northwest Arkansas. If you need to reach a provider after hours, please call 479.463.1000 and ask to speak to the physician on call.

Prescription Refill

Prescription refills are available for patients who are followed regularly by Dr. Markell. Prescriptions are refilled 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. on Friday. 

For prescription refills, please contact your pharmacy and request a refill 3-5 days before needed, even if you have no refills left. The pharmacy will electronically send or fax a request to our office, asking for an authorization to refill. Our fax number is 479-404-4910. 

Medical Records

A medical request signed by the patient is required to send or release records to anyone. If you are requesting a copy of your records, there may be an additional fee.

Financial Requirements

Integrative Gynecological Services

We accept most major insurances. You should have your insurance card available at all appointments. Copays, deductibles and/or co-insurance must be paid at time of service. We accept cash, checks and credit/debit cards (Visa, MasterCard and Discover).

Integrative Medicine Consultations

The clinic does not accept insurance for this service, and fees must be paid at time of service. We accept cash, checks, debit card and credit cards (Via, MasterCard and Discover). Some integrative health services may be reimbursable under a health reimbursement account (HRA), health savings account (HSA) or flexible spending account (FSA); however, it is the patient’s responsibility to check with their plan administrator to determine what expenses are covered.
