About Washington Regional Hospice

Washington Regional Hospice provides care in patients’ homes, nursing homes and assisted living facilities, and also provides inpatient care at the Willard Walker Hospice Home, located on Longview Street near the medical center. The 24,500-square-foot home, which opened in 2011, was designed to help patients and families feel supported and comfortable. It features a glass-walled chapel overlooking a tranquil nature preserve, a library, kitchen, family dining room, laundry room for guests, sun porches and a room designed for children with a TV, games and books. The home offers a beautiful and peaceful environment, along with a specially designed care program that promotes comfort, dignity and peace:

  • 12 private rooms, each with a family suite and outdoor terrace
  • One-to-four (1:4) nurse-to-patient ratio, 24 hours a day, seven days a week
  • The hospice team includes hospice and palliative care certified physicians and RNs, social workers, chaplains, grief counselors, volunteers and physical therapists
  • Family and friends encouraged to visit
  • Pet visitation

Regarded as the oldest hospice in the state, Washington Regional Hospice is the only local program of its kind that is accredited by The Joint Commission, the nation’s leading accrediting agency of healthcare organizations, and is the only hospice in Northwest Arkansas that is affiliated with a locally governed, community-owned, not-for-profit medical system. “Washington Regional Hospice has a long tradition of assisting patients and families during this stage of life,” Dr. Bradley says. “Our team is honored to provide support and care for our patients and their families, thus allowing them to fulfill their goals and focus on living life to its fullest.”
