Washington Regional Medical Center

A non-profit, community owned and locally governed medical center located in Northwest Arkansas.

Volunteer opportunities

  • Information Desk – welcome visitors and patients
  • Gift Shop – perform retail duties and interact with visitors and staff
  • ICU/CCU waiting room – assist families, communicate needs to staff, direct phone calls
  • Emergency Department – greet patients and provide information
  • Other duties as needed

Faith In Action

Provides area seniors with free non-medical services to promote their independence, dignity and quality of life.

Volunteer opportunities

  • Friendly visits – spend time with a senior in their home
  • Shopping – help client shop for food and other essentials
  • Telephone calls – call to check on and visit with homebound clients
  • Transportation – drive to medical appointments and perform other errands
  • Light chore assistance – help to keep the home safe and livable
  • Yard work – keep the lawn mowed and leaves raked
  • Food assistance – deliver basic food and paper good necessities from the Faith In Action pantry
  • Social activities – connect seniors with fun social opportunities

J.B. Hunt Transport Services Cancer Support Home

Provides hope and comfort to those on a cancer journey. All programs and services offered are provided at no cost to clients.

Volunteer opportunities

  • Reception – welcome clients by phone and in person
  • Boutique – help clients choose the right wig or mastectomy product
  • Resource library – connect clients with resources that help with diagnosis and treatment
  • Daily operations – work alongside staff to ensure clients receive exceptional service
  • Events – assist with cancer screening clinics, health fairs or promotional events

Hospice

Promotes comfort, dignity and peace at a time when families need it most. Volunteers offer supportive services for patients and their families.

Volunteer opportunities

  • Direct patient/family interaction – communicate and visit with patients who reside in long term care and assisted living facilities
  • Pet therapy visits – visit patients with your registered pet therapy dog
  • Bereavement support – assist with bereavement phone calls and data entry
  • Hospice Home – office tasks, mailings, reception desk, etc.
  • Professional services – provide services for the patient or family (massage therapist, hair stylist, etc.)
