Spine surgery will be considered only if the neurosurgeon can pinpoint the exact source of the patient’s pain, such as a herniated disk or spinal stenosis.
Our surgeons are trained in traditional open surgery as well as minimally invasive surgical techniques. Traditional open surgery, which involves a long incision, is typically used when the surgeon needs to access and view a larger section of the anatomy. An increasing number of conditions, however, can be treated with minimally invasive surgical techniques. Because minimally invasive techniques do not require a long incision, they typically involve less risk and shorter recovery time than traditional open spine surgery.
