Labor and Delivery nurse (LDRP)
How long have you been at Washington Regional?
About 18 months (hired 1/24/2011)
What do you like best about your job?
I love working with people and being apart of their special moment. Also I love teaching. I love being the calm in the storm, especially with our IUFD's.
Why did you choose Washington Regional as an employer?
My classmate from nursing school has worked here since we graduated and she loved it here!
Describe your family.
Me and my husband have been married 6 years this August. We have two sweet boys, Iaeden (8 years old), and Josiah (3 years old). And we are expecting Selah Grace at the end of July.
What are your hobbies?
I love being in nature with our dogs, spending time with family and friends.
What is something that people would be surprised to learn about you?
I grew up in Sweden.
What do you like best about Northwest Arkansas?
We have all four seasons, though I wish for more snow during the winter. I love how warm it gets here in summer, and I love all the nature to explore.
What customer service skills help you manage your job duties?
I treat my patients and their families as if they were my family, always keep them informed of the plan of care and what I'm doing and why I'm doing it. And again: lots of teaching.
What is the most rewarding part of your job?
Making a positive difference in people's lives; making an exciting/scary/special moment be the best experience possible; equip my patients with the most knowledge possible to be able to best take care of their precious newborn during this adjusting time. Also, I love to teach a lot about breast feeding and what to expect so that they are prepared and will succeed.
