August Employee of the Month Jacylyn Thrush pictured with Bill Bradley, President and CEO and Bill Brown, Director RT, PT, EKG and Sleep Lab
What is your role at Washington Regional? I am the Coordinator of Respiratory Therapy and I assist with various duties for all the therapy departments including RT, PT, OT, ST, EEG, Sleep, EKG, equipment and Pelvic Therapy.
How long have you been at Washington Regional? I have been with Washington Regional since April 2000.
What do you like best about your job? The people I work with everyday.
Why did you choose Washington Regional as an employer? My father worked for Washington Regional as a respiratory therapist in the 80's and always loved his job. When I did clinical rotations in school I knew after being here only a few short weeks that this was where I wanted to be. I felt like WRMS was the premier facility and offered me the best opportunity and place to help patients.
Describe your family. I have been married for 14 years to the father of my 2 children. My very talented 13 year old daughter belongs to the gifted and talented program at her school, she takes advanced placement classes, she is on the pom team at her school, she dances competitively at an area dance school, she plays the flute, clarinet, and excels at playing the oboe. My very intelligent son is 8. He is also in the gifted and talented program at his school, he is a brown belt in Karate and he will sit down to talk to any adult who will give him an ear. I am so proud of both of my children!
What are your hobbies? Do moms have hobbies?
What is something that people would be surprised to learn about you? I love to be at the river kayaking!
What do you like best about Northwest Arkansas? I love that when I drive down the road and just casually wave at a stranger also driving down the road, they wave back!
What customer service skills help you manage your job duties? I always try to look for opportunity in every situation. Even when things are tough (this included my personal life) we have to look forward to tomorrow and learn from today.
What is the most rewarding part of your job? I love that I still love my job! It is very rewarding being able to identify an issue and work the problem. Whether it's at a patient bedside or in an accounting spreadsheet I feel blessed that WRMS has the autonomy for staff to work to find the answer.
