The services of Washington Regional Hospice are available to any resident in its service area, regardless of age, individual capacity, condition or ability to pay. No one in need is ever turned away. Although hospice services are generally covered by Medicare, Medicaid and most private insurance, out-of-pocket expenses and special needs can pose a financial burden on many families.
Friends of Washington Regional Hospice, established in 1986, raises funds through two annual signature events, the Summer Garden Party and the Autumn Brunch. Both parties are hosted at elegant private homes, with proceeds going to help pay expenses or fulfill special wishes for patients who have limited financial means. Funding from Friends of Washington Regional Hospice has helped pay a patient's rent, purchase durable medical equipment and send a three-year-old patient to Disney World.
