Pelvic Therapy is a new addition to Washington Regional. This inexpensive and conservative therapy helps patients struggling with pelvic dysfunctions as well as pregnancy pain. The team is comprised of Ashley Striegler, Charla Cox and Laurel Sexton, all of whom possess a doctorate of physical therapy degree. Therapy is a combination of pain-relieving modalities, exercise, bladder retraining and biofeedback training. With a national success rate of approximately 70%, pelvic therapy can help to eliminate surgeries and improve quality of life. Whether you are preparing for or recovering from pelvic surgery, struggling with pelvic pain or avoiding social situations for fear of leakage, the therapists at Pelvic Therapy can create a program to meet your functional goals.

Ashley Striegler graduated from the University of Arkansas with a degree in kinesiology, then earned a clinical doctorate degree in physical therapy at the University of Central Arkansas. She completed internships in several locations, giving her varied experiences in the field of physical therapy. In Little Rock, she completed the only specialized pelvic physical therapy program in the state at that time. She now serves Northwest Arkansas and the surrounding area at Washington Regional's Pelvic Therapy and is continuing her professional growth by attending courses to prepare for the Pelvic Therapy Practitioner Certification exam.
Charla Cox earned a bachelor degree in kinesiology and biomechanics at the University of Arkansas before obtaining her doctor of physical therapy degree at the University of Central Arkansas. She then went on to complete post-doctoral specialization training around the country in the field of women's health, including pelvic physical therapy, obstetric physical therapy and high-risk prenatal and postpartum physical therapy. She has spoken at various community events and is a member of the Section on Women's Health of the American Physical Therapy Association.
Laurel Sexton completed her clinical doctorate in physical therapy at Des Moines University – Osteopathic Medical Center after completing her Master of Science in Physical Therapy at Des Moines University and a Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training. She went on to pursue post doctorate work in pelvic therapy for men and women. Before working exclusively in pelvic therapy, she worked in a combined setting of pelvic therapy and orthopedics specializing in spine and sacroiliac joint dysfunction. She has extensive training in manual therapy such as muscle energy techniques, myofascial release, and visceral mobilization. She has spoken at many community events and provided educational presentations for physicians and nurse practitioners. She has also been a guest lecturer on the mechanics and treatment of the sacroiliac joint at the University of Arkansas. She is the Arkansas State Representative to the Section on Women’s Health for the American Physical Therapy Association.
