Washington Regional Wins Innovator Quality Award
06/09/2011
Washington Regional has earned an Innovator Award from the Quality Awards program of the Arkansas Foundation for Medical Care (AFMC), a non-profit organization that works to promote excellence in healthcare through evaluation and education. The Quality Awards are designed to recognize improvement in individual healthcare organizations’ performance in AFMC’s quality improvement projects. The Innovator Award honors hospitals that developed new, creative patient safety projects that successfully improved patient care.
Washington Regional was named an Innovator for having achieved both Chest Pain Center Accreditation and Heart Failure Accreditation from the Society of Chest Pain Centers (SCPC). Washington Regional is the only healthcare facility in Arkansas to earn full Heart Failure Accreditation status from the SCPC, and only the 23rd in the United States to achieve dual accreditation in Chest Pain and Heart Failure.
“We are honored to be named an innovator,” says Mark Bever, Washington Regional executive vice president and hospital administrator. “For us, it represents not only Washington Regional’s current sophistication in delivering life-saving cardiac care, but also the tradition of quality that Washington Regional has provided to the community for more than 60 years.”
