Faith in Action relies solely on volunteers to provide services.
Training is provided by FIA staff to an individual or group. Rather than wait for a group training, we have found that individuals want to get started! We provide a one-on-one training with each volunteer using our thorough Volunteer Training Manual. Trainings are also available to church groups, organizations, or groups of employees who wish to become FIA volunteers together. If interested, contact the FIA office.
 All volunteers receive ongoing training and support as well as a comprehensive training manual for reference.
In 2007, FIA volunteers provided 3,763 services to the frail, homebound aging in Benton and Washington counties.
- 617 escorted trips to medical appointments
- 292 assisted trips to the grocery store
- 346 in-home assistance with household chores
- 592 "Friendly Visits" to relieve social isolation
- 42 minor home repairs
- 57 visits to help read mail for the blind
- 1,424 telephone reassurance calls to the homebound for safety and socialization
