Hospice is a special healthcare program designed to meet the needs of patients and families who are faced with a life-limiting illness. The hospice goals are to assist the patient in living as comfortably and fully as possible at home. To achieve this goal, the hospice team offers a variety of services to both patients and their families.
The hospice program depends on trained volunteers and community support. Volunteers are needed to help with patient care, office work and special projects. Donations and memorials made to Washington Regional Friends of Hospice are greatly appreciated; these funds assist hospice patients with financial needs.
Hospice Team Hospice utilizes a team approach to lend support to the patients and their families. The team consists of the hospice medical director, nurses, nursing assistants, social workers, chaplains, volunteers, and the patient’s physician.
Washington Regional Hospice is the only agency in northwest Arkansas with a board-certified hospice physician as medical director, Stanley C. Bradley, M.D.
