Employee of the Month Laura Jones pictured with Larry Shackelford, Sr. VP Outreach Services and Peggy Lynch, Clinic Business Office Billing Manager

What is your role at Washington Regional?
Coordinate all of the Insurance Analyst's with the Clinics Business Office

How long have you been at Washington Regional?

8 years

What do you like best about your job?
The people! I love being part of the Washington Regional family and the opportunities I have had to interact with so many of them.

Why did you choose Washington Regional as an employer?
I wanted to work for a hospital that cared about their employees and gave so much back to the community.

Describe your family.
I live in Prairie Grove with my husband Craig, my Italian Greyhound Derry, and my little Dachshund Macy. I have a son, Joey and daughter in law in Missouri who have blessed us with two precious granddaughters, Julie and Brigid.  I have a daughter, Sarah and son in law who live in Lincoln and are about to bless us with a third granddaughter.

What are your hobbies?
I am a dog lover and interact with them any chance I get. I am also a seamstress and spend lots of time in my sewing room creating for my friends and granddaughters. I also love to donate my time to wonderful causes like our own Adopt A Family program.

What is something that people would be surprised to learn about you?
That I spend many hours cooking and baking.

What do you like best about Northwest Arkansas?
I love the diversity and culture here. I really love the Fayetteville Farmer's Market.

What customer service skills help you manage your job duties?
I started out in the medical field as a medical collector. I learned the skills of calming people down and helping them resolve issues. In my jobs in the past and now, I have learned to handle a problem from start to finish...never drop the ball.

What is the most rewarding part of your job?
The people, no doubt about it. From the wonderful friends I have made to the elderly patients who are so thankful and relieved when you can help them out. My job is so rewarding and satisfying.
